According to wikipedia, Saint George, a Christian martyr who a saint in Christianity was a soldier in the Roman army with Greek origin, he became a member of the Praetorian Guard for Roman emperor Diocletian. St George was sentenced to death for refusing to recant his Christian faith.
He is mostly known as Saint George and the Dragon that he fought in Silene in Libya. His remains are beleived to be at The Church of Saint George in Lod (Lydda), Israel.
